Muna is a Finnish tech startup that develops an app to help individuals collect and monetise their data by selling directly to companies. Companies get real customers data and individuals get compensated – a win-win solution.
Challenges
Muna data privacy concept is fresh. We had already seen multiple business angels invest millions of dollars in such a concept. But the questions are: is the general public ready for this? Is there a market for Muna?
Solution
We need to address what’s at the core of this challenge: Muna’s market validation. This required a strategy to test the idea. Using social media, we aimed to find the ideal audience and to understand the problem that Muna is trying to solve. We did this by showing that Muna is so much more than just a mobile app: we highlighted how the app works, shared different tips and introduced the community to this concept.
Impact
Muna is able to figure out which angle to play. Every post receives positive feedback and engagement from an active community. As a result, we eliminated what didn’t work, validated the business idea and came up with a new positioning: an app for curated promo codes and coupons for sustainable and healthy products that helps users save time and money, while maintaining their core design as a privacy-first app.
